Who is this Gammon you are talking about repeatedly?  Someone who got “banned”?

Gammon.
Oh, and the steak I was using is a bit different to the ones on that page - ours was about 1/5 of an inch, and doesn’t have fat on.

So basically you used ham steaks?  That sounds tasty!  Except for the mushrooms, which Dave loves and I hate…but I can pick ‘em out! smile

And I have a pretty good meatloaf recipe on my blog.

Ah. I figured you guys would have a different name for them, but I didn’t know whether it would be ham steaks or bacon steaks.
smile
ETA: You could always add in peppers or leeks or something instead of the mushrooms.

Boo…about avocado, I don’t use it often, and usually I use it plain.  Like chunks in salad.  I have also used it as babyfood b/c it’s so soft.  Anywho…I know that the dip tastes different than just plain ranch dressing.  I am not a big fan of ranch dressing…and it becomes totally different with the avocado added to it.  The only other time I am big on avocado is with guacamole.  And, that of course, is seasoned with lemon juice & other things.

I’ve made this since I was a little girl.  The original calls for a can of tuna, but I don’t like cooked canned tuna.

Chicken And Chow Mein Noodle Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
1 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. diced onion
1 c. diced celery
1/4 c. diced green pepper
2 chicken breasts halves, boiled and shredded
1 can cream of celery soup
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. water
Salt and pepper to taste
5 1/2 oz. can of chow mein noodles

Cooking Directions:
Saut

I made burgers for tonight’s dinner. I just mix turkey mince, sweet chilli sauce and some diced spring onions. They were yummy. smile

While out and about yesterday, Dave found a cookbook with some really good recipes in it, including this one for Butterscotch Cookies.

2 C. brown sugar
1 C. shortening or margarine
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 C. flour

Cream brown sugar and shortening together.  Add eggs, then dry ingredients and vanilla.  Mix well.  Chill a short time and roll into balls.  Flatten a little and bake at 375 F for 15 minutes.  Remove from cookie sheet and cool on rack.

Yields 4 1/2 dozen.

These are REALLY good! grin

ETA:  You might want to shorten the baking time a little bit for softer cookies.
