Actually, the Simpsons is a pretty good idea. I just hope there’s still some way to play ancient media in the future…

Remember when seeing a woman’s ankles were risk-a?

Unfortunately, yes. Mind you, back then we spelt it risqué.

(’Risk-a’ was my deliberate attempt to be cute David......I guess I didn’t succeed)

But back to the question… what should go into a Time Capsule?  Dr. Who

The only thing I can think of that belongs in a time capsule is
The Doctor and his assistant/companion

Smerk the cutest dragon
Lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
In Western Australi

Little Accipiter loved that girl enough
He told her jokes and crazy facts
And other forum stuff

Smerk the cutest dragon:
Traveled cross the sea,
To hunt her prey in foriegn lands,
And snuggle with Acci!

A photo of goatse.cx, a DVD of one of those videos where you watch closely and right at the end Linda Blair from The Exorcist appears and screams, a little poo, a fake dragon embryo in a jar, a fossilised giant and an Illuminati membership card.

I would definitely go for an MP3-player. With all the filesharing and the transfer to online buying.
Buy a cheap player, put on it some of the currently popular music and some of your favourites, just don’t forget to remove the batteries.

I say put yourself in there, then dig yourself out in 20 years to see how stuff has changed.

Anything that you expect to change in the coming years:

A picture of a gas station’s gas prices.

Ads for electronics

One of those supermarket tabloids about Hollywood.

Don’t put in:
Coins, they’ll always be available
Newpapers, boring, and available at the library

I don’t advise books.  It’s rare that any of them increase in value over time.  My dad had a huge library of popular books.  Only about 1 in 20 is worth even $5.00 now, the rest are just bulk garbage.
