!/2 inches gone and down to the bone is still a pretty good heal, but I have to agree that this appears to have been mostly at the underside of the tip which is pretty fleshy, very near the bone and left a good dug-out gap but doesn’t indicate an entire fingertip.  It was a good heal, but not a newly-grown finger top.  That would have been noted if the entire knuckled area had been removed and then grew back.

That’s pretty odd - the news articles they showed on tv here showed he’d lost half of his entire finger. AND they showed the pictures to go with it.
