I made the mistake of falling for one of the puppy scams and it cost me $550! I found a woman by the name of Adrienne Chinn who had an add saying that she had some English Bull dog puppies for sale for $150. I thought this was to good to be true but sent her a message anyway. The next day, I get an email from a woman named Caroline Hayward who claims that Adrienne had called her about me. I read her emails and from everything that I read, I thought this would be a great deal. We talked for several days by email and she told me that she would let me have both her puppies for only $500. I made an agreement with her that I would send $250 now and then send the other $300 after I got the puppies. I sent the first $250 to the shipping agent only to be told that the puppies needed their rabbies shots first. So she said that the shots were going to cost$400 but that she already had a hundred. So I sent her the $300 once I got paid the next week. Now she tells me that the customs there wants $475 for tasking care of the puppies for a week. I want a great home for them because they are my real babies. The weather here is not conducive for them that is why I want to get them out as soon as possible and I will be very happy if you will be one to take them as your babies.I have a male and his name is Chapman while the female name is Beauty,they are both very good with kids and love to play alot this is one of their many character, I never wanted to sell them but the weather here in West Africa is not helping matter at all. I’m done with this lady and all I’ve done is lose $550! These people need to be stopped and it’s sad that they would use God in their Scam!! I hope that people like this burn in hell!

Word of advice, if they say its not a scam, it is.

We’ve known about this scam for quite some time.

This is why with me… if you want me to pay money for something… it needs to be available for inspection before I will even consider buying it… much less before I’ll actually pay for it! Really though, did you “read” these e-mails? Because anybody writes to me, sounding this flighty and unintelligent, it’s immediately going in the trash… maybe I’d make through the first 5 sentences before I trashed it… but probably sooner. If you actually lost money to this lady… you deserved it!

How did it go from $150 per puppy to both of them for $500? That’s an extra $100 each.

And why would you order them from Nigeria? The logistics of transporting two animals from Nigeria to the US are mind-boggling when you factoer in the quarantine periods and medical check ups required to get them cleared to enter the country, especially from Nigeria where rabies is the least of your worries.

Not to mention they’d be from a country where bulldogs are unbelievably rare if not totally unheard of.

Moreover, Nigeria (I assume) doesn’t have many controls on licensed breeders of pedigree dogs so you’d have no guarantee the puppies would be pure pedigree bulldog, nor would you be able to check them first to ensure you were buying good stock.

The more I think about it, the more problems I see with it. I’m going to stop now just because I’ll be here all night fidning flaws with this scam. It’s quite a poorly executed one, actually. They’ve given no thought to the details. Me, I’d have dropped latin and some esoteric breeder’s knowledge in to sweeten the deal.

If I wanted a puppy i would go down to the local pound and check out the offerings.  At least there you ‘ll know it had it’s shots.
