Cinema Blend is reporting that Variety is reporting that Viggo Mortensen is being signed for the new movies (probably the second one since Aragorn doesn’t appear in The Hobbit).

My wife will be very happy.

Well, Arwen might have a *short* bit in Rivendell, and maybe some more in the second film..

The problem is that if they get too many people then the people they don’t get might be upset.  Some are required for The Hobbit, but the others are descretionary for the second movie.

No, but for the second movie he probably is.  It’s just an educated guess, but I’m pretty sure the second movie will involve the hunt for and capture of Gollum, which Aragorn did.  But maybe not.
