The forum rules do state that we should “Try to stay on-topic within a thread. If the conversation moves to another subject, start a new thread.“, which the last couple of pages clearly haven’t!

I know the conversation lagged a bit when WTG got himself banned, but there is a bit of a tendency, whenever a topic slows down a bit, for us to go all OTCC on it. Perhaps one of the mods could split off the comic theme into a new thread?

That is a good point, David.
I shan’t split this topic, seeing as ABC has referred to the off-topicness, but it’s definitely something to remember in the future.

I suppose that the general tendency of people like WayToGo to ramble on and bring up irrelevancies and avoid the main subject makes people forget that there is a point to these sorts of threads, and so they become impromptu off-topic chats.

Probably not even a different machine. Anyone who has a dynamically assigned IP address (which is most everyone, unless you pay extra for a static IP) has their address change usually once a month. Often, you can also change the address by simply unplugging your modem for about a minute. That’s why banning someone from a forum is near next to impossible. They’ll be back shortly or as you mentioned, move to a different machine using another IP. You can ban the account, sure, but they can always sign up again and keep doing what they want, if they’re determined enough.

Oh right.

If by “senseless” you mean asking you (oh, sorry - and WayToGo) to offer proof of what you claimed then I guess it was senseless.  Silly us for asking you to show any support of anything you say.  Other than your own (oh, sorry - and WayToGo’s) word, that is.  We’re supposed to take you (oh, sorry - and WayToGo) say at face value and believe what you say, yet you (oh, sorry - and WayToGo) don’t take anything we say - even when given with corroborating evidence - at face value.
