Haven’t finished it yet, too much going on last night.  So far it’s pretty interesting, though I think the first chapter should have been moved to the end.  Yes it’s interesting, but it’s also highly disturbing at times and really sets a theme that might turn many people off before they get to the rest of the book.  Granted there are some people who would buy it for just that information, but I think casual readers thumbing through in the store might stop before going any further.

Chapter 2 is much more light-hearted, fortunately.  I’ll let you know how Chapter 3 goes. smile

And lastly, if you haven’t already - buy the damn book before Alex has to start selling off his Mods for milk money.

Well, whilst I haven’t got it - it isn’t out here yet - I am somewhat charmed to see that Alex is still using the same author photo.

I’m disappointed he’s not sitting in a library somewhere wearing an tweed jacket and smoking a pipe.  Either that or wearing khakis and a pith helmet with a rifle in his hand and his foot resting on the head of a jackalope.  I’m rather torn between the two.

If I could just find a willing woman I’d go with the second option.

You want a picture of yourself in safari gear standing triumphantly with one foot on the body of a beautiful woman you’ve shot?

You need help pal.

Thanks for rubbing it in Chary that none of us have read it yet downer

There are a few goods shots of Alex from our Edinburgh trip I think he could use as a profile shot. There’s one of him with Grey Friars Bobby, or the one wearing the Nessie hat or even the one of him hugging Nessie. All great photos and with something hoaxy kind of going on. Even if it was just for on the site…
Or maybe he’s quite happy with the photo he uses and we should all shut the hell up? LOL

I had preordered it from Amazon.  Haven’t seen it yet.  Guess I should go check on that order status…

Looks like the book is on the way.  But I found this interesting:

Order #: 105-3393546-xxxxxx
Shipment Date: October 22, 2007
Destination: [My home town], Idaho, USA
Estimated Arrival: November 23, 2007

I know that I’m getting the free shipping, but a month to get here?

Wait.

I know that I’m getting the free shipping and the United States Postal Service is the carrier, but a month to get here?

It must be going the long way around.  Via Cape Town.

Mine was actually delivered sometime last week.  They shipped it on the Friday before so I imagine it was delivered last Monday or Tuesday.  I got a notice that it shipped early, which was nice, I just didn’t pick it up until this week because I was on vacation.  In other words, yours should be here by now.

Oh, and my estimated arrival date was well into November, as well.  I think there’s something wrong with their software.
