By the way, the central premise is somewhat flawed anyway. In most states you can’t get married when you’re 13 even with parental consent. In the state I live in, for example, you can’t get married when you are younger than 16 unless you get the permission of a judge. Here’s a table from the Cornell School of Law summarizing the laws from state to state:

What’s interesting is that a year after Alex did the first article…Tobester brings it up again…and then on another board I visit…someone THERE found it.  How strange is that…that it gets new interest at the “same time” 2 years in a row??  Hmmm…

Good luck on that, Joe.  Maybe you can even start a harem of red-heads.  Perhaps you could convince Carlotta to be the symbolic chief wife.  wink

I’m probably in a minority here in not seeing a problem with arranged marriages for girls of this age or even younger.  However, there is a considerable difference between the bride’s parents arranging a marriage with a long-established family friend, and the parents marrying off their child to some total stranger.  Which is why if anything like this website were to actually be real, I would be worried.
