Is oppiejoe going to be extinct in 100 years?

Well, probably.  But he has a thing for redheads.  We don’t want him depressed before he becomes extinct.

So Opiejoe is going to live over 100 years? Dang, I need more tye dye clothing!

No.  If redheads are extinct in 100 years oppiejoe won’t last long.

Personally I’m having a hard time buying this story.  If they want to say there won’t be any more viable genes for breeding redheads I might buy it.  But I’d want to see a little more than a mere news article explaining it.

But from my definition of “extinct” that means that there won’t be any more redheads alive in 100 years.  That would have to mean that any time now there will never be another redheaded baby born so they would all have a good chance of being dead in that 100 years.  (And still not guaranteed even then.)

I can understand that the gene pool might be growing smaller and smaller as redheads breed with other color-headeds.  But I’m not buying extinction in 100 years.

Unless hunting them is going to become legal?  Or if Eric Cartman gets his way (from before he thought he was one).

From the bottom of that page:

He was able to get Congress to lift the ban on stem-cell research in the episode “Kenny Dies” and talked the ginger kids out of killing all non-gingers after Kyle told him that they had played a trick on him in “Ginger Kids”. Earlier in that episode he had rallied all the gingers to exterminate all non-gingers in a Hitler-esque way.

They leave out the lead up in that episode.  Cartman wanted to ostracize and exterminate all gingers.  The other boys dyed his hair and gave him freckles while he was sleeping to make him a ginger.  He then turned the tables and rallied the gingers to kills all non-gingers, as mentioned above.

RedHeads? gone? Wow, who new there would be no more gingers in 100 years…

Go figure.

As you’ve pointed out Tah, hair dye (or some other technological way to bend hair/skin etc. color) is most likely ALWAYS going to be around.  Many redheads today (and those who will be one tomorrow) weren’t genetically engineered that way!!!
