I think I’d tell him to sit down because he’s a crappy character that has one damn line in that whole cinematic abortion of a movie and that he’ll only be remembered for being such a letdown. That’d make him leave me be. And cry hopefully.

I actually thought he was hot

I was rather pissed off that he died so soon - he was the only good thing about that horrid movie as far as I’m concerned.

What was the point of him? He had so much potential to be an awesome character! Such a good villain!

He gets about 5 words in the whole film, gets killed. No explanation about him. Nothing. He doesn’t get a chance to be scary or imposing like Darth Vader (who I repsect a lot less after seeing the whiny runt he used to be).

Who gets screen time? Jar Jar. F**king Jar Jar.

If you ask me, Lucas hangs out with Spielberg way too much

I didn’t like Jar Jar, either.  And Darth Maul should not have been killed off.  He should have been the apprentice in the second movie instead of Count Dooku.  At least give the character a chance to develop.

You know (and I’ve said this before, but not here), I hate to admit this but: When I was kid, an in high school, and in college, the Star Wars trilogy was probably my favorite set of movies of all time. Lucas destroyed that franchise with the prequels so much that I can hardly go back and enjoy them originals.

The story was so much better when the past (Clone Wars, how Obi Wan and Anakin met when they were starfighters (which was retconned for the damn prequels), etc.) was a mystery. You got clues from different people (like Obi Wan dropping hints about how he met Luke’s father when they were both soldiers) but you didn’t know for sure. And it made the universe seem more real.

The prequel movies just made the series feel like a set of movies. The original trilogy almost felt like a documentary about what went on out there, a long time ago.
