Personally I find it somewhat repulsive when a man is reeking of cologne. I only want to smell scents on a man if I’m up close and personal, and frankly, I’d rather smell the man himself, not Calvin Klein or whatever. Now, this is simply my personal preference, other’s may certainly disagree, but I’ve had this conversation with many girlfriends and gay friends over the years and my peers at least, are in agreement with me on the subject
I seem to remember reading an article in a magazine about these so-called pheromones. The report noted that while pheromones work in the animal kingdom, where they are used to attract sex during mating seasons, humans don’t produce pheromones, and therefor are unreceptive to them. One of my friends in medical school echoes that opinion- pheromones, like mating seasons, are something that humans don’t need and don’t have. Since we don’t produce them we are not affected by them.
I know some scientists believe that a woman’s menstrual cycle can be affected possibly by pheromones of other women (McClintock effect) and that pheromones possibly play a small role in human suxual practices. But even then they are looking for a very small role, not the GIRLS WILL WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU IF YOU WEAR OUR PRODUCT role that the companies say.
There has never been a peer-reviewed study that has shown pheromones to work. No matter what the companies say.
