Voted best movie of all time.

It is definitely worth renting and watching, I watched it so long ago, did not absorb too many of the nuances, stoned, no doubt.  I re-rented it a few months ago and it was incredibly great to watch (and follow….....marijuana really does not enhance deep thinking, I suppose…...it was a much better movie the second time, with my full attention devoted to it).

Of course, these are the same people who voted 2001:  A Space Odessey and Apocalypse Now into the list. . .that makes me wonder about their critical abilities. . .

I never saw it…it can’t have been THAT great.  Whenever I have picked up the movie at the video store & read the back blurb…it just doesn’t seem like that big of a deal.

by The MacKenzie Brothers, formerly ‘The Great White North’ until ordered to change their name, as they were defaming the Canadian citizenry somehow.

It’s got it all:  love, action, suspense, comedy, pathos, greed, and charm.

It also needs a great deal of marijuana and a few quarts of good beer to be truly enjoyed, but hey, 3-D movies need glasses, so who cares?

People who treat movies like the highest form of art get on my nerves discussing them. “Oh, the artistic merits of Citizen Kane are very post-blahdeblah”. Piss off, it’s a waste of 2 hours of my life I could have spent watching Ghostbusters.

I enjoy the occasional artsy film, but I hate people who criticize others for enjoying some “no-brainer” films.  (I use the term “no-brainer” in the loosest sense—there’s really nothing more subjective than what a “good” or “smart” movie is)  I like what I like, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Yay! Vertigo is in the top 10!
