In an article on hindulife.nl it is said they found some pretty big skeltons in the north of India als know as The Emptu Quarter.
Anyway, the pictures:

Mirror of the article (in dutch), since hindul.nl seems to be a little very slow right now.

The photos are from Worth1000 and probably used without permission.

(Edit: both of them)

Heh. I was just going to say it was obviously photoshopped.

I don’t have photoshop, but own a number of similar tools and have even created a couple of W1000 ‘entries’ for practise. No way I’d post them though, I’d end up being threatened with legal action for using my own images[*].

Empty Quarter in northern India?  I’ve never heard of such a place.  There’s an Empty Quarter, but that’s in Saudi Arabia. . .and it’s not exactly renowned for its grassy fields and trees and fertile soil as shown in that picture.  If that’s where it’s supposed to be, then whomever wrote the article must have had some interesting notions of geography to go along with their interesting notions of paleontology.

And I’m going to have to add “groot” to my list of fun words to say.  wink

How did that come about?

Sorry, I removed the associated link (it wasn’t that important anyway). An image I knocked up over a lunchtime and posted to usenet as a joke became a bit of niche hit, later I found someone selling t-shirts with it on and claiming to own the rights to it. When I told him I was the author, he said I was lying and if I interfered he’d take me to court. So I pointed out that the original image posting would confirm I had first posted the image (“Proves nothing!“ said he), and that the image posted was digitally watermarked with both my name and the serial number of the software used to make it, which was registered to my place of work, where the original source files of the image could be found. So if he wanted to take me to court, he could be my guest, because I would win so fast he needn’t bother parking his car.

I should have had his sorry ass kicked out of the convention, but it would have just meant me wasting my holiday on a nobody.
