I just noticed it when I looked were it merged.

Maybe it only merges the text and skips “funny things” like smileys and links etc.

My husband said they showed a clip from a different angle on the news this morning, and you can clearly see bush taking off the watch and handing it to secret service. I haven’t seen it yet, but my husband can be gullible for such a cynic.

Heh, just after I read this, the clip was shown on the news. Bush seemed to put both hands down in front of him, then reached up to shake hands with his left, and reached backwards with his right hand, presumably passing the watch to one of the agents. I’d assume that he felt someone trying to take the watch and decided to take it off for safekeeping.
