Plans like this aren’t anything new, oddball plans are drawn up all the time as exercises or simply as preparation if case of need. Though admittedly it’s likely these plans would have been used before the ‘Canada Invades the US Via Omaha’ one. It’s usually best to keep all your options open and plan for as many contingencies as possible, even if you’re not sure you’re going to go through with them. I’m sure plenty of people would be surprised at the US plans to invade and occupy Britain should the need ever arise.
I’m thinking that was sarcasm. And waiting for someone to die isn’t the same as ordering them killed, though Castro is a major conspiricist. Probably why he’s survived so long.
Well, that’s not quite true. The camp existed long before Castro and the US had a deal with the Bautista government to lease the land. Since the US refused to acknowledge Castro as the rightful ruler of Cuba they refuse to give up the base. That’s why we send a check every year that Castro refuses to cash.
The prison camp was just a place looking for a location, and Gitmo was sitting there with no real purpose. That doesn’t make it right, but it’s not the reason we’re in Cuba in the first place.

hmm
If true that would explain a lot.
I’m willing to have an open mind about it
it just seems very strange that an enemy state
would co-operate in any way or form
but if you’re right, then perhaps they aren’t.
I wonder why Castro doesn’t just kick them off then!
