My flames seem to have no effect on mice…I should know - been having a bit of a problem (though not plague proportions) with mice for about 6 months now.

I just can’t imagine. When discussions about humans being the chief culprits at depleting all available resources comes up again, I’m going to remember this and correct the reporter, author, speaker etc. This case clearly points out that the rodent explosion had NOTHING to do with any human intervention.
