I don’t understand what they meant about that one girl’s lips (second or third I think, don’t remember). They said she had a thin upper and full lower, but her lips looked completely full to me *shrugs*

None of them are particularly interesting to me… although Gong Li and Zhao Wei might have a shot on a blind date.

Bottom line… (to me) Beasjt is right that beauty is in the eye of the beholder… and I consider “inner beauty” just as important as outer (physical) beauty.

What is and what is not “beauty” is purely cultural.

Some of those pictured in the link are definitely Hot in my opinion (e.g. #4 Zhao Wei and #3 Zhang Jingchu). Other’s aren’t. I noted that those I’d prefer got worse “reviews” than the once I absolutely don’t.

I actually thought the first one was Zhang Ziyi…but then in the pic of Z Z, they said she looks like Gong Li.  I didn’t understand what they said about her lips, either.

I just spent the last 7 months in Shanghai & Hong Kong and their ideas of beauty differ greatly from ours… #4 was my favorite by the way and she seemed to take a big hit from those critics…

PS - I’d just about bet that most of those girls weren’t “pure” Chinese… any of them with the higher nose bridges most probably had mixed heritage. My wife is Chinese & Philippino and it’s these different combinations that make such interesting blends…

The Big S chick looked barely Chinese at all.  I wondered about her.

What is “pure” Chinese? China hosts a very large diversity of people. Even including people that are not mongoloid at all.
