Oh, I rarely go out of my body any more, though I still get off my head fairly frequently.
Hey! Out-of-body is great! I’ve been several times. However, in 63 Elizebeth Taylor slapped my face while out-of-body, and Janet Leigh screamed at me, so I’ve been very cautious since.

At least you saw one dead people. And screaming as well.

Actually, though I have no way to prove it, I have been out-of-body many times. Astral Projection does exist. We all do it when we sleep. The exit time is at that point when one is just on the pivotal point between sleep and wakefulness. However this is mostly forgotten when we wake up. It can be attained consciously though, and conscious experiences are the ones I’ve enjoyed. In AuthorsDen I gave two sets of instructions on how to achieve this. They are as follows:
Method #1
Start at the bottom of your feet. Tell them to relax, “feet relax…feet relax” thusly.
Keep this up until you feel your feet begin to tingle. Then progress to your ankles, shins, knees, thighs, etc. At each different point wait for the tingling to begin before going on to the next point.
Continue with each section of your body, until you are one big tingle from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head.
Now you are on the edge of melding with your subconscious, your astral body is loose and may be causing you to experience a sensation of swaying.
That simply means that you are ready to separate from the physical.
Focus on where you want to go, or the person you want to see.
Don’t force it. Be relaxed, keep your destination in mind, and let it happen.
When you have used this relaxation technique a few times, you will find that you begin to tingle from head to foot, after one or two suggestions, rather than taking the fifteen or twenty minutes you found necessary the first couple of times.
Enjoy your out-of-body experience!
METHOD #2
First relax yourself. Then picture the place you want to be, or the person that you want to see, in your mind’s eye.
The image may distort, waver, and do everything else imaginable but stay constant and clear in your head. Nevertheless, persist, and after about twenty minutes you should feel yourself blanking out.
Let it happen. When awareness returns you will be wherever you pictured being. Or in the presence of the person you wanted to project to.
Simple, but effective.
I have never astrally projected while I was asleep. Now, before you say “Yes you have, you just weren’t aware of it” I have, to the best of my recollection, never dreamt of a person or place that was exactly the same as in real life. There is always a difference, usually major, in size or distance, or even in orientation/placement of objects in my dream. Even people are never the same size, they’re always more exaggerated than in real life (thinner, flatter, bustier, ect) and they almost never behave as they do in reality. Which brings up another point, in my dreams I’m always a part of the dream, interacting with it. I’m never a passive observer, which is what would be required of astral projection.
Until someone actually proves they have projected instead of simply been dreaming, I’ll continue to discount it. It’s not as if there hasn’t been plenty of opportunity for them to prove it, and they’ve completely failed every time.
I once had a very dear friend who had a drug problem. I let her stay with me once while she was detox’ing. I won’t get into the gorey details, but let’s just say that it wasn’t a very pleasant experience (nor was it ultimately sucessful I’m afraid)
Anyhow, she slept in my living room on the sofa. One night I was having a dream. I don’t remember what the whole thing was about, I just remember suddenly my friend appearing in it and saying “you have to wake up, I can’t breathe, please please wake up, I need help”
Well I woke up with a start, then felt immediately relieved that it was a dream and started to go back to sleep when I decided to check on her just in case. Good thing I did. She was semi-concious and choking on her vomit and sort of flopping around. I got her lungs cleared but she still couldn’t breathe so 911 was called.
I still wonder about that, it was pretty freaky.
Only other thing similar was when I was in high school I had a dream that I looked into my aquarium on my nightstand and my goldfish was all manky looking and he said “I’m dying, I’ve been poisoned!” and when I woke up he was dead. Turned out my brother had put soap in the tank
Mad, I’m sorry, but I’d have to say this is definitely something extrordinary. It’s a bit like my earlier post about by mother. And that was not the only time either, but the only time when I was awake.
I realize that there is no way to prove these since you certainly didn’t set out to create the scenarios. Nevertheless, they happened.
(I have never astrally projected while I was asleep.)
Most people would feel like you do if they have never experienced it on a conscious level. I.m not trying to convince anyone either. The fact that I have been there, done that, and with conscious effort several times makes it a reality for me.
Hope everyone has the experience sometime though. It will sure change their outlook on death!:)
