It happens more often, you know. I always wonder why they do.

I would think that the queries are mostly innocent in nature (old friends etc.) but you never can be sure….it’s hard not to be cynical (well for me it is)

OMG.  Five minutes after my shift starts I get my first call - some guy with a bomb/gun threat.  I had to wait to deal with it when the office opened (at 8am), and so I’ve been doing that ever since.

...Just thought I’d update everyone on how my day is going…On a conference call now with the branch manager and head of security.

Maeg, that seriously sucks.

99% of these cases are just bluff, but there always is that one real wacko….

Check escape routes etc., check out when you hear unusual sounds in the buiding.

jeeze Maegan, sounds like you got to speak to an honest to goodness wack job…like LaMa said, chances are it’s nothing to be worried about but in the same breath might be adviseable to pay a little closer attention to surroundings

...Mostly resolved now.  We’ve made a report - however helpful that is…And he wasn’t threatening me, but he knows I’m in Tampa (I’m SO GLAD he didn’t ask for my last name!)

It was just sort of a veiled threat.  He wants to bring in a box with a letter about how badly he’s been treated, and tell everyone that inside the box is a bomb.  And then when the police show up and kill him, someone will open the box and see it’s only a letter.

I felt really badly for him…but you can’t just threaten to walk in somewhere to get killed.  He did tell me he was on a bunch of meds and suicidal as well.  So it was as much for his protection as it is for ours.

Oh…Also, he “could be the sort of guy who just walks in with a gun and blows everyone away”.

::sigh::  I’m taking my break early.
