A defense attorney has asked a judge to bar any references to his client’s nickname - “Scuz” - in his upcoming murder trial, saying the moniker could negatively influence jurors.

Thats a blatant attempt to confuse proceedings methinks. I once gave evidence in a trial where the defence used more or less the same approach, but in a more subtle way. It went right over the heads of the prosecution so it worked. I found it very frustrating to watch.
