Over the past years, I have come to sense that I learn and think in a different way than most other people.

One difference, is that my thinking appears to be much more ‘visual’  than the thinking of many other people seems to be. Also, I have another way of ordening information, a higher than usual synthezising ability, and a highly encyclopedic memory that again is highly spatio-visualy oriented. I think and remember in images, and visualize the things I speak of in my mind first. I make a lot of diagrams when tackling a problem, and prefer a diagram to a table.

I have been reading a lot on this recently, and found some interesting tests. These tests indeed result in high scores for me when it comes to spatio-visual learning, and much less on auditorial-sequential learning.

I am interested to learn how other MoH forum members perform in these tests. Note that the results of these tests are not related to intelligence: they point to different ways of learning and thinking. Also note that these kind of tests are the subject of criticism, they are not uncontested.

I picked out two on-line test that are quick and easy to make:

What are your results?

I scored 12 out of 17 in the Visual-Spatial learner test (classifying me as a “spatio-visual learner”).
The VARK test resulted in a multimodal result with indeed a very strong result for Visual (8), Kinesthetic and read/write (both 7), and relatively low score for Aural (5).

I got 15 out of 17 on the visual-spacial learner test one,
and on the VARK thing my results were:

Visual: 5
Aural: 2
Read/Write: 2
Kinesthetic: 4

... but then, I always knew I had to learn by looking and trying things: my elementrary and junior high were very focused on helping ‘Gifted kids’

I’m multimodal (looks proud!)

And I got 10 out o 17 on the 2nd one.

I got 11 outta 17 on the second test, but I think I must have answered some of the Vark questions wrong because i’m a very hands-on tpye of learner, i like to see what makes things tick (Like the question on the spatio-visual test about taking something apart to see how it works.) and tend to explain things to peole using diagrams etc.
