I came across this today and have never heard of this…..Thought it was interesting, but I can’t verify it…..I can not find pics either…
“Brooke Greenberg has celebrated 12 birthdays according to the calendar and her family photo albums. In terms of growing up, however, she has yet to reach her first. To the mystification of the medical world, Brooke is frozen in time, a real-life, female Peter Pan. She weighs 13lb and measures 27 inches, and looks and acts as if she were a six-month-old baby, not a girl about to become a teenager.
This is kinda opposite to the film ‘BIG’, then? I know people can grow too quickly but then dont live long or something ‘cos their organs don’t have time to catch up. Something like that, it was a science lesson a looooong while ago…
My husband saw a man (many years ago) with this same condition. The man was 30 something but looked like a baby, with the exception of the head, which he says looked older than the body. He can’t remember what the disease is called, he only remembers that one of the family members said something about a valve not working correctly.
But apparently, nothing on this girl has changed…not even her head.
And Stephen…I guess that’s what I meant. I breastfed until Jocelynn stopped asking for it - so one day after she was 10 months, she never asked to, and ta-da you’ve got a weaned 10 month old. If this child is similar to an 8 month old, would the mother have stopped breastfeeding (or giving formula) at some point? Curiouser and curiouser.

Thats a completly different condition…..I forget what it is called as well, but those people were always on talk shows back in the day…..They use them in movies as well, such as “The Aurora Encounter”....
What I find most bizarre is that no one has any idea how long this poor wee thing will live. So what happens if her parents become old and infirm or die, its left to her siblings to care for her. Then what… That is quite scary
