I was the Town Harbourmaster for a little town of about 2,000 people for a while. Then the Town Manager was fired, and I ended up having to take over most of his responsibilities, too. Then the City Council was fired and/or arrested for various things, and the Mayor quit. So I ended up being the only administrative person in the entire town government, and had to be Harbourmaster, Town Manager, and acting Mayor for about a week. That was a real thrill.
