http://puzzlephotos.blogspot.com/

interesting photos of items that might be tools?  The puzzle is to tell what they are and how they’re used.  I’m guessing the third one is some kind of table crumb collector?  Or maybe for cigar smokers?

On the page are more links to other sets of items to be identified

The third one looks like some sort of voting thingy.

#835 looks like a ‘proof gun’. It was used for testing the amount of alcohol in spirits.

* Looks at answers. *

I think Boo is right about the box thingy. If it were some type of alms box, I imagine it would have a coin slot.

where are the answers?

I’ve got a Twilight Zone DVD—and among the “extras” was a clip from a game show that Rod Serling hosted.  I disremember the name of it, but it was just like this—a celebrity panel was given some thing (usually bits of machines or obscure tools) and had to come up with an explanation for it.  One was secretly given the right answer, and the others were trying to trick the contestant.

This Old House has a similar segment.
