Well, Larry, you have been through our ‘wringer’ and survived just fine, the wonderful thing about this site is that it is so civil.

And David, our beloved curmudgeon, when he jumps in, it is always with a great deal of thought, and total sincerity.

I certainly believe in the afterlife, but do not believe much in Hell.  What purpose could it serve?  For some horrible soul that is just incorrigible and without redeeming feature, why doesn’t God just sort of put that sould through the Soul Shredder and just destroy the entity entirely?  Why torture it?

And besides, don’t you think that the worst fate of all would involve Barry Manilow Videos on a big screen at real high volume?  24/7 ?

If God is mean and cruel like that, I am not sure I would want to spend eterenity with Him anyway, always wondering if the hammer is about to fall on me, and off I go to ‘get whacked’ land?

I’ve sometimes considered the notion of an eternal afterlife in Heaven, and not really cared much for that idea any more than the idea of Hell.  After a few billion years, I’d think it would get rather dull.  Plus, you’d probably end up with your memory getting all filled up and confused until you reached the point where you didn’t know who you were or what was going on.

Lol, I have my stages. At the moment I’m in the stage where I dont see the point in being negative about stuff.. Next week will be the opposite probably!

Propose an alternative… it is heaven don’t you know…

If we are ascended beings I don’t think we will have the same limitations as we do in human form.  And time will be meaningless because it won’t exist.
