Ok, I know there are a few Doctor Who fans here, but I was wondering if anyone has been following Torchwood.

I was a little unsure about it at first, but I think it’s been getting better as it goes along. Last week’s one was pretty damn creepy, and now I’m waiting excitedly for tonight’s episode, which is set to be darker than any of the others thus far.

Does anyone else have an opinion on this show?

I love it!
For me, one of its best features is that the stories often don’t have an ending where everything works out well.

Oh my goodness, this episode (Countrycide) was scary.
And Owen looks like a ventriloquist’s dummy.

Anyone notice it’s an anagram?

Smerk the cutest dragon
Lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
In Western Australi

Little Accipiter loved that girl enough
He told her jokes and crazy facts
And other forum stuff

Smerk the cutest dragon:
Traveled cross the sea,
To hunt her prey in foriegn lands,
And snuggle with Acci!

Smerk the cutest dragon
Is getting married now they say
Though little Accipiter
Has yet to name the day.

Not out here in Aus, either.  And yes, I noted the anagram, only because they used it to advertise the final episode of Dr Who season 2.

It actually is in the US. SciFi channel, Fridays 8PM. There have been several “Torchwood” references in the David Tenant series.

References yes, but not the series.

Heh. It took me ages to twig that it was an anagram.
I think it was around the episode Tooth and Claw in the Tennant series.
Torchwood.
Now, I think that Doctor Who has got a few episodes into the most recent series (at least according to TWoP) in the US, but is Torchwood going to be shown over there?
Presumably there’s enough fans of Doctor Who and Captain Jack Harkness that it’s worth it…

I think I’ll wait for the next spin-off about a group of late night bird watchers who witness the beginning of an alien invasion and band together to thwart this and other alien threats to Earth (while meticulously recording all the different species they’ve seen in overly neat notebooks).

It’s going to be called “Hoot Crowd”.

LOL Didn’t see that one. I did get “Cow Dot Rho”, but I couldn’t think of a joke spin-off to go with it!
