I just went to see Terry Pratchett talk at our local bookstore.

He was absolutely brilliant, totally not how I expected him to be. I was expecting a fan-hating, pessimistic old man, and instead was greeted by a rather quiet guy in a black felt hat telling funny stories about Buckingham Palace.

My favorite story was the onw when he was awarded the Carnagie Medal. He noticed that it was almost the exact same size as a large chocolate coin, so he brought one to the ceremony. when he was handed the medal, he quickly switched it with the coin, unwrapped it and bit into the chocolate. The comittee was rather shocked, so he doesn’t think he’ll win another one.

Anyway, I now have a copy of

Wintersmith

with “To A——-: Reasonably Priced Love! -Terry Pratchett” written on the title page.  Hurrah!

Oh, and Boo- you must watch “Hogfather” this christmas- Mr. Pratchett said he loves it and can’t wait to see what the fans think.

Yeah- it was on the forum some time in May. They did a made for TV movie with a huge budget, and Terry likes it a lot. He says it will be released over christmas break and the DVD will be available sometime in January.

Also, they’re making a movie- a real movie- of

The Wee Free Men

Okay, so I’ll be the first, and you can all throw stones at me - Who the hell is Terry Pratchett?
