the John Johnsons, Tommy Thompsons/Thomas seem to be fairly common.  (I get a lot of names in my line of work…)

I have seen quite a few Patrick FitzPatricks,  Michael Michaels, and lots of names that rhyme….Nancy Fancy…Jerry Perry…

I do know a guy whose name is B.C.  His mom took a lot of B.C. powder while she was pregnant, and decided it was a good name.  When he first got his driver’s license, the form was filled out by his driving instructer.  And his instructer knew that B.C. was not initials, so on the form wrote
First name:  B (only) C (only)
His driver’s license came out as Bonlyconly…

And is there any cause why these two should not be married?

Someone here in Leiden goes by the name of Herman Riool - riool means “sewer” in Dutch.

I once read a scientific paper on archaeological evidence for cannibalism, one of the authors was named Agnes LaMort.

The number of funny family names here in Holland is high. Family names were forcibly introduced here by the French in the Napoleontic era. Apparently many peope thought it would only be temporary and that it was fun to pull the French’ legs by giving themselves mildly or not-so-mildly obscene or plain weird names because the French wouldn’t understand the Dutch anyway. A well known Dutch family name that probably has its origin in this is “Pielkenrood”, which is archaeic Dutch translating to about something like “red dick”.

My family name actually means “trousers” or “long pants”.

Agnes the Dead, I believe.
Or Agnes the Death.

Basically, Agnes is dead, or Agnes brings death.

Smerk the cutest dragon
Lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
In Western Australi

Little Accipiter loved that girl enough
He told her jokes and crazy facts
And other forum stuff

Smerk the cutest dragon:
Traveled cross the sea,
To hunt her prey in foriegn lands,
And snuggle with Acci!

Smerk the cutest dragon
Is getting married now they say
Though little Accipiter
Has yet to name the day.
