Apparently so!

A lot of recent spammers seem to be of the opinion that you share their ethics, and will often send information to the ‘wrong’ email,  prompting folks to try and secure the money for themselves. Of course, this gives them an ‘out’ in the form of ‘you aren’t who we thought you were, you get nothing,and we’re keeping your advance fee nyah’..

Yesterday I received an e-mail from a company that addressed specifically hulitoons.com requesting that I permit them to advertise on my site for which I would be paid.

I did look them up and it’s a firm that hosts site information and search engine info.  Of course I PAY for my domain as well as monthly fees to tripod/lycos to keep advertisements OFF my site.  And Tripod keeps detailed records of all activity on my site (which is often amazing to me that there IS so much activity there).

I received a jorb offer in my work email that stated that they had accessed my profile listed in NeoGov (I work for the State of Michigan and all of our State job offers are processed through NeoGov by our Human Resources office) and I am pretty sure that the system has outside participants, but can only guess that the users who accessed my profile did so through unauthorized methods because I did NOT apply for the type of jorb offer they were seeking applicants for AND the thing that bothered me most is that I have a great deal of personal information (including my Social Security Number) entered into that database since I was ensured that the information was secure by our Human Resources staff.

Not sure that qualifies as “A million Euros” worthy… but similar to your issue Huli and shows how haxxors get into the system and do their dirty work.

I wonder how much I won this time… and what season it is (wabbit season maybe?)
