Well, belonging to NetFlix, my wife and I go through about three movies a week, and the list of available movies is virtually endless.

Anyway, we just finished “Harvey’ (1950) with Jimmy Stewart.

What a great movie!  Classic!

Elwood P. Dodd (J. S.) has a 6’ 6” invisible rabbit as a friend and drinking buddy.  No one else can see him or hear him.  Anyway, his ‘loving’ sister wants to have him committed, as Jimmy Stewart is an embarrassment to her, ruining her social life.

Great scene:  Jimmy, upon meeting Harvey for the first time, they talk and get to know one another, then Jimmy realises he does not know the rabbit’s name.  The rabbit replies, ‘Well, what is your favorite name?’  Jimmy thinks, then states, ‘Harvey’, upon which the rabbit comments, ‘What a coincidence!  Harvey is my name!’

Anyway, the movie is nice to watch, pleasant, with a good happy ending for everyone.

‘Harvey’ is a seriously funny classic.  Glad it’s still enjoyed today.  If you want another laugh in the same genre, Dan, try ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’.  You won’t be dissappointed.

Well, if you wanna good drama, and maybe a cry, you can’t beat J.S. in ‘Shenandoah’.

I always loved the Cary Grant comedies.  My favourite is still ‘His Girl Friday’, but ‘Operation Petticoat’ and ‘Brining Up Baby’ are a close second and third.

Yes, oops, Cary Grant.  Old people!  And I’m not even old yet!

Cary Grant is always fun, especially in the Alfred Hitchcock movies.
