I’m going to start cleaning up the old forum (preventing people from posting new threads there, etc.), and I was wondering if there’s any reason to keep the old off-topic chit chat threads. They’re closed, so they’re not viewable. But they’re still stored on the server.

I’ll probably download a copy of them to my hard drive before I delete them, so they won’t be totally gone from the face of the earth. But they won’t be accessible by the web.

If you have a pressing reason not to see them go, let me know.

I don’t have a problem with it.  There’s probably far too much incriminating evidence out there as it is.

I think that anything in there is pretty much throwaway, Alex. If someone saw something they wanted to keep, they’d have taken it down I think. I wouldn’t bother saving them at all unless someone screams for it in the next few days since this topic is here for that.

Go for it…..I just closed them cause you didn’t want them deleted…..

I hadn’t even really realized that they were still lurking somewhere on the computer’s files, so it’s no big loss to me if they go away.

Mark, I think Alex is referring to the ones on the old forum.

I know that when we decided to close old threads (so they would no longer be able to be viewed on the forum), it was because we thought in the future we could move them to another board, as archival type things. 

Since we can’t move them - they should just be deleted.
