Having never known him as Gilligan, I’m not as upset as you guys.
But it’s still sad that he died.

What a sad day for TV land…
His image of eternal youth, in a goofy white hat yelling “Skipperrrrrrrr” is forever frozen in my memory.

((Sidenote—-any mere mention of “Gilligan’s Island” requires the obligatory statement…Mary Ann was by far the best choice between she and Ginger—-just for the record. ))

Boo—-if you can find only one episode of “Gilligan’s Island” somewhere…watch it and you’ll know the plot line for nearly EVERY episode of this show. *chuckle*

Rest in Peace Gilligan…rest in peace.

I don’t know if it would have the same impact seeing it for the first time as an adult in today’s world, but having grown up on it, it really meant alot to me.  It was incredibly cheesy and dumb, but I loved it all the same.  I still do.

The episode I remember most is the one with Kurt Russel - probably b/c I already knew him as an actor when I saw the “boy boy, girl girl” episode, it just stuck best in my mind.

Jeez, it WAS cheesy and dumb…wasn’t it? I remember getting SO frustrated when I watched it…they ALMOST got rescued!!! And, usually, Gilligan was the reason they didn’t… smile

Still, it just had a certain charm somehow. Along with shows like “The Beverly Hillbillies”, “Green Acres” and a few others…I guess they just spoke of a simplier, more innocent time or something. I suppose every generation has something like that…
