Drive-By Shooting Was A Hoax
Reported by Carolyn Suma (Denton, MD—WMDT) 9/1/2005

Maryland State Police saying yesterday’s drive-by shooting was a hoax. The officer made the entire story up…because he shot himself.

Police say William Foy attempted suicide when, at the very last minute, he changed his mind, and ended up shooting himself in the arm.

Foy originally told police he was shot by an African American man driving by in a white Honda on Route 404 yesterday. Police say a white Honda did drive past him but its occupants did not fire the shots.

Investigators say when the corrections officer was released from the hospital and questioned by police, his story didn’t add up. And he confessed to police he was the shooter.

In another strange twist, the shooting didn’t even happen on the highway.

“He stopped at his house, did this in the shed and he realized he made a mistake and he wasn’t going to tell anybody at first. He was just going to proceed like everything was normal,” said Cpl. Steve Hall.

Police say Foy drove about four miles from his home in Ridgely with the gunshot wound before the pain became too great and he called 911.

Foy is currently in the hospital for psychiatric evaluation. Criminal charges have yet to be brought against him.

Is it just me, or is the “Disappearing Black Man” the modern equivalent of Spring-Heeled Jack?

Soldier: This is the worst part. The calm before the battle.
Fry: And then the battle is not so bad?
Soldier: Oh, right. I forgot about the battle.

Did you ever see the South Park episode where Gary Condit, the Ramseys and OJ Simpson form a club where they blame their “unsolved murders” on “some Puerto Rican guy?”.

In reality, don’t forget the “Runaway Bride” and her supposed kidnappers (white woman, Hispanic guy), and also Susan Smith initially blaming her kids muder on a non-existant black man.

As much as there’s been so many strides in America against racism, when it comes to stuff like this, bigotry is alive and well. Minorities of whatever form seem to be a convenient target for this type of thing.

If these white people are claiming that minorities have commited crimes against them, it’s b/c they don’t have minority friends.  They’re trying to create a suspect out of thin air.  If they said, “It was a white person.”  Then every white person they knew would automatically be under suspicion.

Technically they’re doing their family & friends a favor - keeping them from being implicated in a crime.  This favor though, creates suspicion and anger against minority communities.
