Eh, things have been okay with me. Work’s been busy - the drawback of working for a tax accountant! I don’t feel as though I have much free time between work and tai chi (which is the newsletter I’m currently doing)
It’s going really well but I know that in a couple of months, it may get a little boring because by then I will have learnt it all. But apparently they are really good when it comes to expanding your knowledge so if I want to take on extra things, they’ll help me with that.
Yeah, there’s always that. I’m just going to wait and see how long it takes to fall pregnant. I don’t really want to start something new and then leave on mat leave a month later.
True…I hope you don’t get a rough deal with mat leave like my sister did. She’d been working at the bank for 14 years, fell pregnant, and got made redundant while on maternity leave!...but then again, she works for a different bank…
They have a really good mat leave package here. 12 weeks fully paid, then the choice to come back part time for two years, then full time after that. They seem pretty good and I made it clear at my interview I was trying for kids so they can’t say I didn’t warn them!
Yeah, I think that was about what my sister had. But the bank ended up having a lot of layoffs when she was on leave, and all the women who were on mat leave were the first ones to go.
