post music festival (Lansing Michigan USA) report…
Cheap trick did NOT play the same song all night Chary…. Rick did use “the 5 necked guitar” and Uncle Dick (the two-necked guitar shaped like a man) and was tossing guitar picks like they were confetti.
All in all they were all right, but a little less enthusiatic until the end of the show. Threat of rain kept some of the people away I suspect, so the crowd was lighter than on other nights and less responsive than I think they hoped for. Keith Anderson was the warm-up band (Country music), which didn’t help matters.
On the second stage was Halestorm, Evans Blue, Trapt, and Shinedown which drew the youth and leather crowd away. The evening on that side was capped off with a short display of fireworks.
Monday was Steve Miller, Tuesday was a soggy Tesla (I passed in favor of a demolition derby at the county fair), Wednesday was Styx (By far the best show this week), Thursday was Poison & Cinderella (decent job from two bands that have been around for 20 years.. much to my surprise). Tomorrow is the Bangles (I will pass on that one) and Sunday Ted Nugent with destroy the place with his sonic gonzo assault… Not bad for $80 a ticket
