Savannah man sent girl with robbery note into bank as “joke”
AUGUST 30—Meet Michael Lyons. The Georgia dope might want to try the mall next time he’s looking to entertain his daughters and their young friends. According to a Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department report, Lyons, 45, sent one of the girls he was driving around last Friday into a bank with a short message for the teller. But unbeknownst to 12-year-old Cathrine, the yellow Post-it note she passed along to the teller was a stick up note. The little missive led another employee to trip the bank’s alarm, bringing both local cops and federal agents to the scene. And while Lyon’s excuse, “it was a joke” that “he didn’t mean anything by” may have kept the FBI from locking him up, it did result in him getting hit with an attempted robbery charge and taking a trip down to the Chatham County Detention Center.
