sorry Winona..and i am actually kind of jealous of myself right now….the music scene here in Rhode Island is nothing to be proud of.
Stooges/Velvet Underground/Pistols were all pretty much gone by the time I was in Jr. High so never saw them live…..saw No Doubt in 89 and i was blown away….great live band, played a ska/punk mix that was quite exciting…of course they were nothing like the pop incarnation they are now.
That’s what I was going to say about No Doubt. Their “old” sound and image was very different, much more fun. I can understand evolution of a band, but still… it was better, imo.
Chuck, it’s not great here in the middle of Illinois, either. Though I suppose it’s only a couple of hours to Chicago. I haven’t been up to see any bands for a few months though.
