Dean Karnazes is a freak of nature: He can run for three days and three nights and never get a cramp

CALIFORNIAN Dean Karnazes defies the odds. Here’s a man who can run for three days and three nights without stopping or even getting a blister. His body just keeps on running.

And we’re not just talking about a casual bit of road running either. Karnazes has participated in some of the toughest marathons on the planet - including running to the South Pole in -25 degrees celsius temperatures.

Yet despite these tough conditions, Karnazes said he’s never ever experienced any form of cramp or muscle fatigue.

I saw this guy on The “Ultra Marathon Man” episode of Stan Lee’s Superhumans… He was tested in a lab and found to be able to keep his lactic acid levels below a threshold level and his body can continue to function well beyond the limit most people can endure. There is an entry in Wiki that says tests at the Performance Center in Aspen (Colorado) in 2006 showed his lactate threshold to be above average (although the citation is missing from the article)

You can see his website here: http://www.ultramarathonman.com/web/
