So anyway… there’s been some amount of scandal involving US agents killed in mexico, due to bumbling departments, Fast and Furious, etc. Lovely little fiasco.
Naturally of course, the family is suing.
THEY ARE SUING FOR $75 BILLION DOLLARS. Edit: $75 million. Turns out there was a typo in the docket.

I did some math…
$75,000,000,000 dollars.
$1645 dollars/troy ounce in gold
45,592,705 troy ounces
- 113,981 ‘Good Delivery’ bars (400 troy oz each)
—This is enough gold to build five houses out of solid gold.
—- Fort Knox holds 368,000 such bars.
1,418,091 kilograms of gold.
- Density of 19.30 g/cm3
—73 cubic meters
—- A block 4.1 meters on a side.
—- Roughly 12 feet on a side for those who prefer such.
3,126,356 pounds of gold
- 1,563 tons of gold.
So… yeah. Sheer lunacy. Yes, very tragic and sorry for your loss, but come on... One does not hand out the GDP of small - no - medium-sized countries as payout for a lawsuit.
