The line I quoted, to which Tobester reponded, is from ‘Egidius’.
‘Egidius’ is a medieval Dutch elegy from ca. 1400 AD lamenting Egidius (who has died).

First lines:

ALL of my school buddies spoke at least 3-5 languages….........fluently.  I was just amazed if I could speak English well enough to be understood!  I remain impressed with this gift you guys display!  Always though, I need a translation, no matter how much I love you!

Incidentally, Anne Rice, yes the author of all the Lestat Vampire novels, posted that she is disillusioned by FaceBook….so I had to post a reply that I have more fun on here!
