I am still boggled by the whole ‘summer in the southern hemisphere’ thing. I mean, intellectually, I know how it works and all, but there is some strange disjunction there. I think part of it is that I actually know and chat with folks in Australia and NZ on a regular basis, while in previous decades there would not be the immediate contact.
