Giant eyeball washes up on beach in Florida
A GIANT eyeball the size of a grapefruit has been found washed up on a beach in the US.
The eyeball, which is white and piercing blue, was found by a man on Pompano Beach in Florida and handed to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The commission has so far been unable to identify what species the eye belongs to although presumably it belongs to a marine animal.
After sending the eyeball to their research lab in St Petersburg the commission shared the photo of the giant orb on their Facebook page.
Guesses about a probable owner so far range from large sharks and whales to a giant squid. Oh, and don’t forget Big Foot.
First of all, Bigfoot isn’t in Florida. It’s in the Pacific Northwest.
Second, what do they mean they don’t know what the eyeball belonged to? Doesn’t it say its a giant eyeball? Just find a giant with one eye and you’ll know where I came from.

I wonder if they will start finding other related body parts washing up on shore in the near future. Along the lines of the human feet washing up in BC.
Too lazy to find the article and link it, but the eyeball has been identified. It is from a swordfish. It was cut out, probably by a fisherman, and washed ashore.
Blimey, I didn’t realise Swordfishes were that size! On the Bigfoot theory, while he might have previously stayed within the Pacific Northwest, in the current economy a great many people are willing to move long distances in search of work, maybe we should be looking for job ads in the State of Florida that would appeal to a Bigfoot?
