The scientifically, medically, ethically, and intellectually dishonest legislation is designed to reduce the amount of time a woman is allowed to have a legal abortion, and is one of the most draconian bills to become law in America.

But this method is just guesstimating when it occured; if the article is reporting correctly, Arizona law can now decide your pregnancy occured 2 weeks before conception ... maybe just an attempt to err on the side of caution but it makes no sense as written.

Not quite. You check when the last menstrual cycle was, and then you calculate two weeks from that. Women are most fertile in the middle of their monthly cycle, not the start of it*. Arizona is removing that calculation, in order to ‘move up’ the age of the fetus, and thereby prevent abortions in the ‘accepted’ zone most other states abide by.
*barring extremely rare freak medical circumstances.
i was astounded, after classes for my first child, that pregnancy is actually 9 1/2 months(40 weeks). What the..? All those jokes about ‘9 months later’, its actually 9.4 months. i guess we round down to 9 because its easier.
In two of my cases, 10 months. And I’m guessing X-Associate that it doesn’t make a difference if ‘sperm’ gets trapped or not (by surgery), as long as you have a vagina you are ‘pregnant’ as soon as you start puberty.
On another hand (depending on how many you may have), be VERY glad if you don’t live in this country. We’re still deciding whether or not to build a great-electrified wall around Texas, Arizona and New Mexico and force them to cecede (they’ve wanted to for years anyway).
These people are trying to drag society back to the dark ages.
