This guy claims he was on hold with Qantas (an Australian airline) on his mobile phone for 15 hours. I have to ask what the real story is. Is it, as the man claimed, that Qantas has such poor customer that they kept him on hold for so long? Or is it that this is a man who is deranged enough to not hang up after the first half hour and incur such a huge bill on his mobile phone?

Qantas stated they have no record of anybody being on hold for that long.

Story here

MAN ON HOLD WITH QANTAS FOR 15 HOURS

An Adelaide businessman says he was put on hold for 15 hours by Qantas as he tried to confirm his flight.

Andrew Kahn waited on hold on his mobile phone for 15 hours, 40 minutes and one second as he tried to get through to Qantas, Fairfax reports.

Mr Kahn called Qantas at 7.22pm on Wednesday trying to confirm his travel arrangements for a trip to New York on Sunday but gave up at 11.01am on Thursday after his call was not answered.

“I hung up in the end simply because I had had enough,” Mr Kahn told Fairfax.

I’d like to know if this guy actually expects us to believe he checked the phone for 15 hours straight, including staying out of bed. Or did he get a team of listeners to take turns or something? Seems a bit fishy if you ask me.

I’ve seen folks that become this hyper-fixated on something like this.  THe longer it goes, the angrier they get and the more focused they are on “doing their business”. shut eye

I’ve seen someone wait overnight outside the door to a service bay because he showed up a 2 minutes to close and was told that they couldn’t see him about his problem until the next morning, at the earliest.  Sure enough, he was still there 14 hours later! gulp
(The only reason I know he hadn’t moved was that his car was still parked kinda catywampus in its slot, he was wearing the same clothes, and because he made sure to mention the fact repeatedly to anyone with a pulse!) LOL

I also find it hard to believe that he did this on his mobile phone.  Unless he managed to plug it in to recharge, I wouldn’t have thought the charge would last more than a couple of hours.
