Right. We gonna mine asteroids. That means bringing mass/weight down to earth. And that means that earth will get heavier (obese).
And than we all be squashed by her gravity.
So we better start with lunar helium first to keep her light.
It´s all down to math.

‘course this would create a lot of jobs too, but I don’t think in time for those living right now, or even grandchildren.  I should think this may even become moot anyway since about the same time we could or can actually do this we’ll also be looking for other places to colonize and there’d probably be natural resources there OR, we’d be moving enough of Earth’s population off the planet to those other places so that resources here would have time (eventually) to reassert or wouldn’t be needed at the same level they are today.
