JANITOR, cleanup in aisle 3. The dragon was out in the rain again.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you’re a mile away and you have their shoes.

Smerk the cutest dragon
Lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
In Western Australi
Little Accipiter loved that girl enough
He told her jokes and crazy facts
And other forum stuff
Smerk the cutest dragon:
Traveled cross the sea,
To hunt her prey in foriegn lands,
And snuggle with Acci!
Smerk the cutest dragon
Is getting married now they say
Though little Accipiter
Has yet to name the day.

Ugh… This is NOT shaping up to be a good evening.
First, my hard drive may have gone bad. Not the system drive.. No, that would be annoying, but replacable. This is the *data* drive, the one with 20+ years of music, roleplaying books, art, games and stuff that I just. can’t. replace. NOT good.
Second, an old friend has passed away. He was the father of the kids across the street, but generally a cool guy who introduced me to computers (Dad would have, but we were the poor family on the block). Not sure on the details, but it sounds like it was sudden. I’ll have to see about the funeral.

1: Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. If it does what it says, you should have no problem with this.

Well, th good news seems to be that it’s *not* the drives… I think it’s my SATA controller. The bad news is that means I need to replace my motherboard, and it might have already done some damage to my drives. Still, I was able to back up the important stuff (except my music, that’s a LOT of files), so even if one drive is borked, I’ll likely have the other just fine.
So yes, tomorrow I go off to Fry’s for a new mobo and a backup drive.
