Mainly it’s because I hate the idea of a 1 year old having chemo and was trying to come up with alternatives.
chemo has less that a 1 percent success rate (0.8 last I looked)
and for a 1 year old the amount of radiation involved could be even more dire.
I hope you find something that works Bebe.
.
Fortunately, it sounds like the chemo is simply a protocol of precaution, and that the surgery did the job. I think they always use chemo and/or radiation to help insure every little molecule of cancer is killed even when surgery has done its job. They said that radiation was the treatment of choice, but you can’t do radiation on a person under three years of age (at least with her type of cancer).
You don’t know how much it mean to me and my family to know that people all over the world care enough to .... well… care.
Much love to you all. We are all sleeping better and feeling more at ease as the prognosis is very good even though the little tyke is going to have some sickness due to chemo for awhile. Daddy will have the opportunity to walk his perfectly health daughter down the aisle some day, and that’s all that matters now.
