I’m sure there’s been more than one occasion where I’ve subscribed to a thread only to discover I’ve been unsubscribed from it. Is this a bug in the forum software or is it because I’m using Safari? Although I don’t see why my choice of web browser would have an effect.

I don’t subscribe to threads…But I can subscribe to this one in Firefox and see how it goes. 

Do you know if there’s any period of time between when you subscribe & when you discover you are unsubscribed?  Or do you notice it randomly?

I’ve never tried subscribing to a thread, so I don’t really know. Sorry!

SO…If you don’t visit the topic…You won’t get anymore notifications!  Maybe that is the issue?

...And coming back here…I now have the option to subscribe to this thread.  When I was here before (before the email) the only option for me was to unsubscribe from the thread. 

Looks like you just have to resubscribe every time you’re here.

So you get one notification the first time someone replies in a thread? Then you won’t get anymore, no matter how many replies there are, until you visit the thread again? And each time you visit the thread there’s an option to unsubscribe? Is it an intrusive option? Like, each time you go in the thread it first takes you to a confirmation screen to make sure you want to stay subscribed? Or is it just a small check box within the thread that is rather non-intrusive?

No…I get the email, click the link, it brings me to the thread…And then once I’m in the the thread, I can go back to the “Subscribe” link at the top of the page to re-subscribe.

It’s passive…You have to go do it yourself.

I subscribed to one on the front page one time and thereafter if anyone adds a reply to it I still get notifications whether I go back or not.  But that’s on Alex’s front page stuff, not inside the forum here.

I haven’t noticed if it’s a set period or a random thing. I’ll try to keep track of it if it happens again.

Peter…If you check out my other posts…It might be an explanation…Also…I don’t know if this would be considered a glitch…or just the way the software works.

Sorry. I think I’m getting confused now. I’ll sleep on it.

I did just notice I was unsubscribed from this thread and I had to subscribed again. So if I understand correctly if I don’t visit the thread when I get an email from it I will be unsubscribed from it.
