Worcestershire terminate contract of Adrian Shankar after it was revealed he lied about his age and career

A cricketer in England has been exposed as a fraud who bluffed his way to a professional contract with English county Worcestershire.

In one of the most bizarre stories to hit the cricket world in recent years, it has been revealed that Adrian Shankar earned a contract with Worcestershire and several other clubs through a mixture of lies, deception and a whole lot of bravado.

I say, that’s not cricket, old chap!

I suppose he thought that nobody would notice that his skills at playing had apparently plummeted like Santa’s sleigh after an outbreak of hoof-and-mouth disease.

I can only guess he must’ve thought once he had a contract they’d have to honour it no matter what.
