I really hate it when people decide they want to start a conversation when you’re trying to leave work for the day. And I’m just way too nice to just walk out on them.
Suddenly strike an alert pose as though you are listening to something in the far distance, and then announce in grandiloquent tones, “Wait! My Dragon Sense is tingling! Little Timmy fell down a well again, and the Gangrene Goblin is robbing a bank! I must go to the rescue!” And then dash out the door. It works best if you sing your theme song as you leave.
